The Network Security Group at ETH Zurich
focuses on advancing the theory and practice of securing
computer networks in an increasingly connected world. Our
mission is to identify, analyze, and mitigate evolving threats
— studying a broad range of topics such as protocol
vulnerabilities, denial-of-service attacks, privacy breaches,
entity authentication, and secure routing.
Bringing together experts in applied cryptography, distributed
systems, and network protocols, we combine cutting-edge
research with practical implementations. Through rigorous
security analysis, protocol design, and real-world
measurements, we aim to build robust, trustworthy networks.
Over the past decade, our efforts have mainly revolved around
the SCION
secure Internet architecture.
Whether by improving Internet routing security, designing
resilient communication protocols, or educating the next
generation of cybersecurity professionals, our group is
committed to making networks safer — for individuals,
organizations, and society at large.
